Welcome to the YourFind WebMuseum!
All of the archaeological finds featured in these pages were discovered in the Don Gorge area between Cadeby Viaduct and Sprotbrough Plantation by members of the public. They comprise a fascinating collection, and this website is a rare opportunity for the public to view such a collection online and in high resolution, with commentary from the Museum's archaeology experts.
There are three different ways to look at items in the WebMuseum:
1) Album View
The first page you see upon entering the WebMuseum is an album view, where you can browse through items quickly to find what you are looking for. There are four album pages like this that you can look through (short cuts to the next album pages are at the bottom of the page).
2) Photo View
Clicking on an item will take you to a more detailed level, with a larger photo, a description, and the option to click on this photo for a full sized high resolution photo. You can continue browsing through the gallery at this detailed level by hovering over the photo and clicking the 'next' or 'previous' words that pop up.
If you want to go back to the album view with the thumbnails just click on 'album' in the menu.
Whilst viewing particular items please do use the ratings interface to rate items you like the most. We need your input because the three items which receive the most votes will be turned into FREE postcards and distributed to the public in February 2008, through your Local Museums, Libraries and community centres. Just click on the stars to rate items (or you could just award 5 stars for the ones you like the best). You may notice that when you return to an item it does not seem to have registered your vote - do not fear, to keep the site as speedy as possible the votes are counted up every 15minutes.
You also welcome your comments about particular items from time to time we will review these and respond where we can. To make a comment click on this icon 
, which is situated directly beneath the main photo.
3) Slideshow
You can also browse the WebMuseum as a slideshow - click on 'slideshow' and the slideshow program will automatically step through the items in the gallery. Click stop and you will be taken to the detailed page for the item you stopped on.
